Patrick Aranda plays a broad variety of pieces from the ragtime repertoire, including advanced compositions from the teens, novelty-style rags, classic ragtime, Harlem stride, popular and Tin Pan Alley rags, plus piano rags of his own composition. He has worked as a pianist at Disneyland and Universal Studios, performing ragtime and stride piano. He plays trombone and tuba with several southern California Dixieland groups, and is professor of music at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, where he teaches jazz band, concert band, history of jazz, and improvisations. RagFest 2007 will feature Mr. Aranda solo and in duets with his fellow ragtime musicians.
